Sharks open SSC series with victory over Tars

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern softball team opened their SSC series against the Rollins College Tars with a 6-3 victory Friday evening at the NSU Softball Stadium. Tori Copeland led the way for NSU, earning two hits and two RBIs.

How it Happened

TOP 3rd- The Tars struck first on an infield hit to go up 1-0.

BOT 4th- An RBI double by Lauren Margolis brought home Gianna Russo to tie the game up at one apiece.
 
BOT 4th- Abbey Moore hits a blooper out in right field to drive home two more for the Sharks as they take a 3-1 lead. 

TOP 5th- The Tars drove in one run to reduce the lead back down to one, 3-2 Sharks.

BOT 5th- Tori Copeland drives home one more run as she hits a line drive to left field to give NSU the two-run advantage at 4-2.

TOP 6th- The Tars converted on another infield single to reduce the lead to 4-3.

BOT 6th- The Sharks walked home two runs to help secure the 6-3 victory.

Impressive pitching by Gracelyn Wallace would ultimately lead the Sharks to the series-opening victory.
